Humans, being not much more than hairless degenerate monkies, make pretty poor climbers. Mother nature, however has equiped many animals with excellent climbing abilities and anatomy. Today we start with our personal favourite, the anti-hero and great climber: the SLOTH

sure, they look a bit funny. Little head, stumpy legs and long arms with warped claws. They are natures ultimate zen monks. They never worry and they never ever hurry. Their climbing style is aesthetic and beautifull, although you have te be a patient person to truly appreciate their slow flow. Like a glacier flowing down a mountain.
If you could transform them into a human climber, that climber would be superstrong, static, friendly and quiet. You guessed it, Swiss legende Fred Nicole
Let's compare their style in two video's
first the sloth

and here's Fred

Ok ok, so Fred is actually quite speedy, but there are some resemblances for sure. Everything is dynamic in climbing these days. But the ultimate master don't need to hurry. They move slow and sure.
So, rounding off, what yan we learn from the sloth? Basically three things:
- Eat vegan.
- Save your energie.
- Sleep as much as you can
And what we can learn from fred:
To climb superhard in good style! Fred is still our hero !!
